Ralia Rentals offers sustainable and unique vacation rentals in Canada and Costa Rica, with a focus on spaces that blend zen aesthetics with eco-conscious values. Their approach is rooted in the Seventh Generation Principle, which emphasizes sustainability and stewardship for future generations.

Through partnerships with sustainability-driven suppliers and a commitment to uplifting local communities, they empower guests to rent with purpose. At all of their properties, you'll find eco-friendly soaps, shampoos, and cleaning products, reflecting their dedication to sustainability and community well-being.

THE BRIEF

The goal was to update the Ralia Rentals existing site with refreshed branding and new properties, creating an aesthetic that aligns with their parent company, Ralia Realty. We aimed to improve the site’s flow to better highlight their properties and drive more bookings by offering a seamless, visually engaging experience that reflects Ralia Rentals values and resonates with potential guests.

THE SCOPE

Ralia Realty aimed to elevate their website design to attract thoughtful, conscious travellers who value comfort, purpose, and aesthetics.
Their existing website reflected core values of compassion, community, and care but lacked the visual sophistication that matched their eco-conscious, mindful approach.
The goal was to create a refreshed site that balanced functionality with a polished aesthetic and offered a streamlined booking experience.
The new design shifted from a brand-centric layout to an intuitive booking platform, drawing inspiration from booking sites like Airbnb and design-focused platforms.
Key property details are presented clearly through a clean layout with icons and bullet points, enhancing clarity and usability.
Call-to-action buttons were strategically placed to encourage seamless booking.
The redesign utilized Squarespace features, including the pin function, custom fonts via CSS, and subtle design elements like filters and drop shadows to add depth and personality.

HOW THE DAY UNFOLDED

Using our Design Day model, Drea and Ralia Rentals collaborated to achieve the following milestones:
Collaborated to explore inspiration from other booking sites, identifying key elements to create a more intuitive booking platform and enhance the overall aesthetic and design.
Conducted a strategy meeting to finalize the site map, discuss visual elements, and gather design inspiration.
Fully designed the homepage and three booking pages, incorporating a minimalist top menu and a more intuitive booking experience.
Implemented bespoke features, including custom code, CSS fonts, and subtle design elements like filters and drop shadows, adding depth and personality to the site.

THE FINALE

Ralia Rentals now has a website that is both visually captivating and highly functional, offering a seamless booking experience that reflects their commitment to sustainability and thoughtful design. The updated site highlights their unique properties with a clean, streamlined layout, enhanced with custom fonts, subtle design elements, and intuitive navigation. It perfectly balances aesthetics and usability, making it easier for guests to explore and book while staying true to Ralia's core values of comfort, purpose, and eco-conscious living.
